AI-assisted clinical documentation
Patient information and consent
What is PsychDispatch?
PsychDispatch is a secure clinical documentation tool used by your clinician. During a consultation it can record and transcribe what is said, and it helps your clinician prepare their clinical notes and letters. Your clinician reviews and approves everything it produces.
Why your clinician uses it
- Your clinician can give you their full attention during the session, instead of typing.
- Notes and letters are prepared promptly and accurately, so other doctors involved in your care receive the right information sooner.
- Your clinical record stays thorough and consistent from visit to visit.
What happens with your information
- The consultation is recorded and transcribed by a secure medical transcription service on servers located in Australia. The audio is used only to produce the transcript and is not kept by the service once transcription is complete.
- A temporary copy of the audio is kept on the clinician's device during the session as a safeguard against connection problems, and is deleted once the transcript is complete.
- Identifying details, such as names, dates of birth and contact details, are removed from the transcript before it is processed by AI to help draft clinical notes and letters.
- The transcript and the resulting notes and letters are stored securely in Australia as part of the patient's clinical record.
- All AI-generated content is reviewed and approved by the treating clinician before use.
- No patient information is used to train AI models.
- The patient can decline AI-assisted documentation at any time - the clinician will take notes manually.
Your choice
Using this technology is entirely your choice. You can decline now, or withdraw your consent at any time, and your clinician will simply take notes by hand. Your decision will not affect the care you receive.
